Who We Are

SUDS is building the first plastics processing facility in Wenatchee Washington. We are a vertically integrated recycler and manufacturer based in Wenatchee, turning agricultural, industrial, and post-consumer plastic waste into recycled pellets and finished products. We started because the problem was obvious: the region produces millions of pounds of plastic waste every year, and none of it gets recycled. There is no plastics processor within a 2 hour drive from here. Everything goes to the landfill. We decided to change that. With over 250,000 pounds of plastic already diverted from the landfill and 650,000 pounds per year of committed feedstock (all achieved without a dollar of outside funding) we have proven that the demand exists and the model works. We are now scaling into a full processing and manufacturing operation.

Impact

At full capacity, SUDS will divert 4.2 million pounds of plastic from the landfill every year. Over ten years, that represents approximately 35 million pounds of plastic waste given a second life as manufactured products. Our facility runs on 100 percent renewable hydroelectric power from the Columbia River, making our entire operation carbon negative relative to landfill disposal. We are creating full-time skilled manufacturing jobs in the Wenatchee Valley, paying livable wages with full benefits in a region where seasonal and service-sector employment dominates. The products we manufacture from recycled plastic are sold back into the same community that provides the feedstock completing a circular economy that keeps value local.

Why Here, Why Now

SUDS operates with three structural cost advantages that are nearly impossible for competitors to replicate.

Zero-cost feedstock. Agricultural producers and municipal programs give us their plastic waste because the alternative is paying to landfill it. We do not buy raw material.

Zero facility cost. Our operational space in Wenatchee is secured with no lease obligation.

Lowest-cost energy in the continental U.S. Our facility runs on Columbia River hydroelectric power at 2 to 4 cents per kilowatt hour, compared to a national industrial average of 7 to 12 cents. For plastics processing equipment running two shifts, this translates to tens of thousands of dollars in annual savings.

On the policy side, Washington State’s Recycling Reform Act is creating a new Extended Producer Responsibility system that requires producers to fund recycling infrastructure and municipalities to expand collection. SUDS is positioning as the designated plastics processor for this region under that framework, creating a regulatory advantage around feedstock access that will be dificult for any future competitor to overcome.

Our Facility

Located at 2811 Euclid Avenue in Wenatchee, our facility sits within 90 miles of every major population center in North Central Washington, including East Wenatchee, Cashmere, Ellensburg, Moses Lake, Yakima, Chelan, Quincy, and Ephrata. This central location minimizes transportation costs for feedstock collection and product delivery across the region. We currently operate a plastic shredder and injection molder on site, with space for a full commercial processing line. Our facility expansion and equipment installation will begin upon funding close.
